Dormy House (The)

They used to make round tables – lots of them and for a long while they were their only product. They have come on a long way since 1981 when John Valenzia retired from the Army and with his wife Eileen began their business. They wanted to pursue a passion for making furniture whilst earning a small income from doing something they loved. Today the ethos of their company is still the same - they just love what they do, which is designing and producing furniture and developing ideas into practical yet stylish home interior solutions. John and Eileen started working from the garage adjacent to their house. The company has since expanded its range of furniture and premises from the garage, into industrial units of ever increasing size to lately in the spring of 2014 into their newly refurbished 23,000 square foot factory on the Walworth Industrial Park in Andover. This new location has allowed them to offer a very efficient service to customers as well as being able to proudly show off what they do in a spacious showroom. Furthermore they can give personal and expert advice to those who want help with finding solutions for interior furnishings and storage dilemmas. The extensive space in which they now work has meant that they have been able to grow their modular product ranges of wardrobes, bookcases, television units, chest of drawers to name just a few, which are proving to be very popular. In all this time they have resisted the temptation to import from abroad and remained a British manufacturing company. They also endeavor as far as possible to source supplies and raw materials from the UK. Their staff are an integral part of the business and are treated as extended family.
