Lombok

Founded in 1998, Lombok is a multichannel homeware brand selling exclusive, inspirational, high-quality, handcrafted furniture, lighting and accessories. Well-known for their Eastern/Colonial-inspired dark teak furniture, they’ve expanded their product range in recent years to include complementary styles that use other materials such as reclaimed woods. They’re concerned about the environment. So any timber they use is sourced from sustainable plantations with internationally recognised certification. They also take part in the Trees 4 Trees initiative where new trees are planted for every container of furniture bought, and they have approval from the UK’s main furniture body (FIRA) sustainability programme, FISP (Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme). Their products are sourced from the Far East, India and Vietnam, with many designs exclusive to Lombok. A real point of difference is having 90% of the product range available in stock and ready for immediate delivery at any one time. All their ranges are constantly reviewed and refreshed with new designs and finishes introduced in line with design trends and customer demand. But unlike other brands, many of their collections are continuously in stock, enabling customers to buy pieces of furniture from the same collection over a period of time. Customer service is key, and they’re committed to providing a premium end to end service to customers from initial contact through to the delivery and furniture assembly at their homes.

Mundos

'Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.' (William Morris, British craftsman, designer and poet whose vison inspired the Arts and Crafts movement in the late nineteenth century). When Vicky and Rod Walker launched Mundos in 1997, they had one simple, guiding rule when it came to designing and sourcing their products - great design at affordable prices. Today they are as passionate about that ethos as ever. Whether it’s a beautifully woven windbreak with clever pockets for the beach or hand-made and wrapped bath soaps, the question they ask themselves is always the same: would they be happy to give or receive the item as a gift? 'If the answer’s yes, we’ll stock it. If not, we won’t', says Vicky. The Walkers’ demand for high standards and excellent taste is proving to be great news for small, independent British designers whose work is showcased at the rapidly expanding Mundos store in beautiful Cardigan Bay in West Wales. One such designer is, by coincidence, one of their former art teachers who taught them in the Midlands 25 years ago and who now designs and makes elegant, hand-crafted clocks from native woods. The Walkers are continually looking for inspiration wherever they go and their fabulous range also features the work of designers from around the world. Mundos tries to ensure that everything they sell has been ethically sourced and, where possible, has been approved by Fair Trade bodies. Mundos has come a long, long way since Vicky and Rod first drew inspiration for the concept during four years spent travelling the world in the mid-1990s and noticing how many great designers the planet boasts but whose work rarely reaches British homes. 'We’re both creative people and it gives us so much pleasure to be able to work with some of the most original and inspired designers around. It really is a privilege'.

Name It

Since 1986 they have been providing families all over the world with colourful, quality clothing for children at very affordable prices. The Name It designs are created by happy and caring people who are inspired by children. Their children's clothing is both a self-assured and fashionable choice. After more than 25 years on the market, they know and understand children across religious and cultural boundaries, and their core values originate from children's fantastic, loving and bountiful nature: sustainability, friendship, creativity, wellbeing and fitness & animal welfare. They want to be the world’s most colourful denim brand for kids, and their selection is broad and covers all the fashion needs of kids – from newborns to tweens. They dress kids from head to toe, and always with a strong focus on two core areas – outerwear and denim. Whatever the style, they have it. Colourful, classic, trendy and cool – for everyday use and for party time. But the most important feature of their designs is that they are safe to wear as well as socially and environmentally responsible. Right now, more than 20 % of our clothing is organic cotton, and their ambitions don't stop there. Organic cotton means environmentally friendly cotton which is grown without the use of pesticides and fertilizers. This is for the sake of farmers, textile workers, the environment and of course for the sake of the children who will wear the clothes. They believe that organic is the future and therefore believe that by requesting organic cotton, they help create a larger supply of it. All their suppliers meet BESTSELLER's own chemical restrictions, which contain equally strict requirements as other standards. A selection of their basic products also meets the European standard Ecolabel, complying with requirements in terms of the entire process, including printing, dyes, sewing cotton etc; the Ecolabel stipulates requirements for the emission of pesticide residues and the use of chemicals throughout production.

Occitane (L')

Offers high quality beauty products and fragrances, developed following the principles of phytotherapy and aromatherapy. Their textures and fragrances are inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle: using a L'Occitane product is always a moment of well-being and sensory delight. They follow a strict formulation charter to guarantee the best quality, the best efficiency, and an optimal pleasure of use, while respecting people and environment. They strive to use high-quality, traceable, natural ingredients (over 200 botanical ingredients, a quarter of them organic certified) which are carefully selected for their effectiveness and their ability to give your skin the elements it needs to be beautiful. These ingredients are used at an ideal concentration in their formulas. They therefore systematically give priority to natural ingredients whenever possible. For example, they use vegetable oils in place of oils derived from petrochemicals, as they have a better affinity with the skin. However, to ensure that their products offer optimum safety and effectiveness, they may use synthetic molecules when no reliable and effective natural alternative exists, while always erring on the side of caution.
